Dr.
Wade Whittier
Wade Whittier, D.C., was raised in
Lake County, IL in the Grayslake area. He attended Carmel High School in Mundelein,
IL and completed his pre-med studies at Eastern Illinois University. He graduated in 1987 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.
Palmer College is the world's first Chiropractic College, birth place of the discovery of chiropractic in 1885.
Dr. Whittier sub-specializes in the treatment of extremities. Extremity care includes
injuries and conditions of the arms, elbows, wrists, hands, shoulders, TMJ, hips, knees, ankles and feet.
He is a regional lecturer to colleges, schools, civic groups, and industries on a variety of subjects related to the musculoskeletal system. His lectures cover both prevention and treatment.
He is actively involved in the Des Plaines Community with the Chamber of
Commerce, board member of the United Way, member and past president and board member of the Rotary Club. He is an avid supporter of the
Des Plaines Self Help Food Pantry through the Salvation Army. He volunteers on a monthly basis at the Des Plaines Community Senior Center performing free consultations and health screenings.
Dr. Whittier is the President, Director and founder of the Des Plaines Chiropractic Center. He attends several continuing education seminars per year
on radiology, patient management, treatment, and diagnosis.
He is married to Lori, an orthopedic practice surgical nurse, and has two children, Tyler and Brittany. His hobbies are numerous and include boating, skiing, scuba diving, golfing, custom golfclub making, working out and coaching.
Dr. Whittier states "I am extremely proud to be a Chiropractic Physician helping the human body use it's potential to heal from many
injuries and conditions without the use of drugs or surgery".
Dr. Mike Bagby
Dr. Mike Bagby is a native of Des Plaines. He obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic, Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Acupuncture Certificate from National College of Chiropractic. His undergraduate education includes an Associate of Arts degree from College of Du Page and a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University.
His Chiropractic education focused on both the prevention and treatment of a wide variety of conditions, with an emphasis on treating the patient and not the disease. Dr. Bagby's training included classes in spinal and extremities adjusting (Chiropractic care of the knees, ankles, shoulders etc...), nutrition, Chiropractic care of the elderly, as well as training in primary health care.
He also has training in the Activator method, an extremely gentle
adjusting method.
Dr. Bagby is an active member of both the Des Plaines Kiwanis club and the
Des Plaines Historical Society, and
served on the board of directors for both
clubs. He was the president of the Kiwanis club for 2000-2001. He is also an active member of the Conservative Provider
Network, Healthy Community Partnership (a meeting of local social service providers, where he
is the chairman of the Physical Health Subcommittee). You may have seen him at the Des Plaines Senior Center,
where he volunteers his time each month to answer questions as "Ask the
Natural Doctor". He has lectured on

Besides his passions for Chiropractic and Acupuncture, Dr. Bagby has a variety of other passions. One of these is motorcycling.
Dr. Bagby participated in the Pony Express 2000 ride for breast cancer
research in the summer of 2000.
From 2001 to 2004, Dr. Bagby participated in
the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States "Ride for Kids". For

He has been team captain for the Des Plaines Kiwanis/Des Plaines Historical
Society team in the Relay for Life from 2005 to 2007, and has been seen
volunteering at enough community events over the years to be nominated for the
Super Star Volunteer Award twice.
